Trunk or Treat

Our ward had a Trunk or Treat activity this week. The kids love wearing their Halloween costumes! They had a costume parade, and then were able to collect the candy. They also had dancing in the gym with doughnuts and apple cider. This year Mara is a Japanese princess, Carson is a Special Forces agent, and Kale is a Knight. They are really excited about all the fun activities they get to participate in.Kale kept wanting to make repeat appearances to all the cars. He would have gone back for 3rds and 4th's if allowed. He thought it was great that you could get candy so easily. :)

We carved our pumpkins this week. We had the kids clean out their own this year. They weren't so sure about it!

Carson thought it wasn't bad at all.

Kale needed to go shirtless for the possibility of getting his clothes very messy.

The finished products will be shown, when we have official pictures of Halloween night!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins.

We went to pick out our pumpkins this year at a local pumpkin patch. We had a lot of fun! The kids liked looking at and inspecting all of them! They almost couldn't choose between them.:) Kale liked the wagons to pull him and the pumpkins. He thought it was so great he didn't have to walk the whole time.
If you are wondering who that stranger in the picture is, you are not alone. That is Lee, he is just sporting a beard right now. He is in a contest at school with another grad student on how long they can grow beards without cutting them.:) He isn't even supposed to trim it.

Fall Days

Fall is here! The leaves are starting to change, and they are pretty. We finally caved and bought a new camera, since our old one died about a month ago. So far we like it. It is a Lumix Panasonic ZS3. Lee took this picture when he was hiking with the scouts today. ( More like walking since there are no mountains). The nature preserve is changing every day. Yes my kids are in their winter coats. It hasn't made it out of the 40's this week. They still love to go walking and enjoy all the fallen leaves. We now have quite the collection.

They really like to see all the changing colors and plants. I am so glad they like being outside.
This past weekend, Lee had to go to Wisconsin for one of his classes. He was studying the sedimentary structures of the Baraboo district of Wisconsin. He had a great time! They even camped in tents. It was much colder there.

He liked all the rolling tree covered hills. We don't have any hills in our part of Ohio, so he enjoys the changing landscapes.

Things are busy as usual. The semester is half done. Yay! Not looking forward to Winter, and hoping Fall is extra long this year.:)
