Not to be Outdone...

Mara has been upset ever since Carson learned to ride his bike without the training wheels. She has felt left behind and probably a little jelous. :) Then a couple of days ago her friend across the street learned to ride her bike. This about sent Mara over the edge, so she begged Daddy to take off her training wheels. She was frustrated at first, but she wouldn't give up, and finally success. She now is a official 2 wheeler bike rider. (Can you say it that way?) She is very excited, and loves to spend her time riding up and down the street. We are very lucky to have a kid friendly neighborhood. We are meeting new friends on our block now that the weather is warmer and people are finally venturing outside. :) Here are some pictures of our outside adventures.

Twilight DVD

So I rented the movie Twilight. I never did go to see it in the movie theater so this was my first time seeing it. I have read all the books and my favorite is the first book, Twilight. My wonderful husband even watched it with me. :) I LOVED this book! I think I devoured it in about 3 days. So what to say about the movie. First, I have never liked who they picked for Edward. I know it is probably because I had some image in my mind of what Edward was supposed to look like, but I just don't think he fits the description. Besides that,I thought everyone else looked pretty realistic. I thought Bella was great! She had the look, but I did find her a little gloomy. I always have a hard time watching a movie after reading the book. I find that WAY to much detail is left out that really makes the story. I know it is impossible to fit everything in, or it would be a 6 hour movie. :) In all the movie was enertaining, and the basics of the story were kept. I being bias, asked my husband who has not read one of the books, what he thought about the movie. He found it more catered to the teenage girl factor which he knew it would be, but still thought it was worth the money spent to rent it. We probably rated it about a B-. Am I being to harsh? Maybe, but again I should know that movies are always different than the book. What do you think?

Ok, here are some of the pictures of Carson and Lee and their bike ride.

And the floods came up.

We have had some WET weather here the past couple of weeks. The result being some minor to moderate flooding. The ground is saturated with water. The water table is very high here. Lee was able to snap some pictures of some of the water around.

Also this week, Carson finally learned to ride his bike without training wheels. Yipee!!! He is doing awesome. In fact, Lee and Carson went on a 22 mile bike ride today. Yes, that is right 22 miles. There is a really neat bike path that travels through several towns. It is paved and flat! They had a really great time.

Mara lost another tooth. She is losing them so quite a few of them. We keep teasing her that soon she won't have any teeth to eat with. :) She is loving riding her bike around the neighborhood too.

Kale has inherited Carson's bigwheel and he really loves it! I can't believe how big they are getting.

More good news! Lee sold 2 of his painting that were being shown here in a local gallery. Yea! I am so proud of him. We are excited that he is selling them. It means more $ in the bank, and that helps with any future trips we might want to take someday. Lee just finished with spring break, and it was fun. Grandma and Grandpa Bartholomew came. (a.k.a. Lee's parents) They spend about 3 days here. The kids were very excited to see them. We enjoyed our time with them and were able to catch up some. For some reason we didn't take pictures while they were here. :( Sorry! We hope they come to back soon!

We are really liking Ohio! We do miss our friends in Utah, and anyone who would like to come visit is more than welcome. (hint hint)

Good times for all...

Spring has sprung here. Finally! We LOVE being outside. We are fortunate to have several nature trails to walk around that are really close to our house. We can see birds and squirrels in all the trees now. We have even seen some canadian geese. We had a lot of fun playing outside all friday evening and on Saturday. I am glad we had the chance since now it has been raining for 3 days. Most rivers are overflowing, and causing some flooding. Don't worry we are pretty safe here, and we have a sump pump in the basement. :) Here are some cute pictures we took of our children while on our walk.

If you look closely you can see the ground! That's right, no snow. Isn't that so fun. Lee is on Spring Break this week, and his parents are coming to visit for a couple of days. The kids are very excited to see them. More to come.

Where is Spring?

I am very, very, very, very ready for spring. Today it was 20 degrees. So much for spring being just around the corner. :( I am hoping things start to thaw soon. I love spring! The green grass, flowers, and perfect temperatures. I am posting a spring picture in hopes it will help all of you feel better. I know I did. So let's all do a spring dance or whatever it takes to bring the warmer weather our way! Did I mention I am ready for spring?
